Sara gave me a call a few months ago to schedule a session of her and Chris, the love of her life.
We met in Greenville at Falls Park to grab a few shots. This was the sweetest couple ever!
A little nervous about the camera at first, but as time went on it was like they didn't even know I was there. The love between these two was out of the ordinary. It was the REAL DEAL.
It is heart warming to see a couple so in love for all the right reasons. We had a really good time. getting to know each other, and come to find out they work with a family member.
In spite of the heat, Chris wanting a steak and Sara wanting a piece of cake we saw the a window passing by, we had a great session. When the battery from my light resource blew we went to plan B and used car lights. It worked absolutely well. Thank goodness.
Guys I did finally figure out how to get my car out of 4 wheel drive, it took reading the car manual and a little experimenting , but it finally went back to normal.
Thanks again you two for a great session.

Rebeccah Fields Senior Session

I have known Rebeccah Since she was born. She will be packing up and heading to Gamecock country in a couple of weeks. Her mom called and wanted a specific picture of Rebeccah in her green dress. I suggested she bring a couple more outfit's for some casual shots. Rebeccah and I got carried away as I usually do in a photo session. We had a fun time grabbing a few different shots after we had gotten moms request in the green dress. We had gone upstairs in my stdio for some very rustic shots as I stepped down on a board that almost took me falling through the floor. We had a good laugh from that. Thank goodness I didn't go through to the 1st level! Rebeccah has a twin brother headed to Clemson I will be photographing next week. He probably isn't trilled , but it's for MOM. I hope Rebeccah will have a fun 1st year at Carolina and hopefully we will see her at some of the games. Go Cocks!

Taylor Smith's Senior Session

All I can say is I have the best job ever!! And absolutely LOVE what I do. I have been watching Taylor Smith Cheer through a good many years, and can't believe she is a Senior this year along with my twins. Where does time go. Her mom scheduled a session for Sr. Portraits a while back. I couldn't wait! Taylor was so much fun to photograph. Her mom came along to assist with outfits and shoes.
Sherry also made a wonderful assistant as a reflector holder. We had such a fun time with our spontaneous backdrops in the town of Greer. During our sessions Taylor received a good many horn honks and revved up mufflers as the guys passed, she would just wave and kept on posing.
I appreciate the opportunity to have been the one to capture her Senior year. I will be looking forward to seeing Taylor at the Byrnes Football games cheering our Awesome Rebels Team to victory. Congratulations Taylor, I hope you have an amazing Sr. Year.

Sydney who is 5 going on 17 good hang with her older sister and friends with NO problem. She spent the week with us at the beach along with her mom, sister and 5 teenager girls. With her curly auburn hair and her beautiful smile we snuck out for a brief photo shoot. Jessie Lister assisted me as we road through Ocean Lakes stopping at random places and grabbing a photo.
Sydney was the perfect subject. She was so cute and after a day of playing on the beach she and I would try to watch Dog Hotel. We started and finally after the 3rd night I finished it without Sid. She fell asleep every night.
It was a fun beach trip.

The Hughey Family

In spite of the gusting winds this week the beach sessions went well. The Hughey Family are from Gaffney. Vacationing the same week I was, they called me about a beach session. We were very fortunate to have great weather. This is a beautiful family! As they arrived I began photographing the kids playing on the beach and interacting with their parents Brandon and Kayla.
The children were adorable in their sweet off white outfits made by their grandmother. What a beautiful heirloom. After a few family shots the kids were allowed to run and play in the sand. I captured some treasured moments as they got sandier and wetter. I'm sure they both had to go home and get another bath after this session. I can't think of a better way to finish a photo session than playing on the beach. I hope Braydon's knees weren't to badly scrapped after crawling on the sea shells. They were great fun! I hope you all had a wonderful beach week.

The Taylor family

As a photographer in the South there is nothing better than living between the mountains and the beach. I get to have an outdoor studio in either direction that I drive. As my yearly trip to the coast it was time to schedule beach sessions with locals and vacationers. I received a call from the Taylor family who have been living in Merrill's Inlet for 2 years. We set up a beach session at Huntington Beach. It was a beautiful and secluded backdrop for some fun beach shots. Margaret their little girl was a natural with the camera. As she ran and wrote her name in the sand, I was able to capture some special moments. To top of a fun session we walked down to a local lake and before me were 3 alligators. I had never seen them in their natural environment other than zoo's. It was defiantly a highlight. It was great meeting Jackie, Brian and Margaret. They were a very sweet family to work with.

Introducing Kristin and Cale Ledford. This was an absolute stunning wedding. The church took you to a garden setting where the ceremony took place. A filled church watched as they shared their vows and dedications. From there we made our way to another beautiful setting at Kristin's grandparents home where a large white tent with a festive flare was the back drop of dancing, good music and fellowship. I had an amazing time capturing the evening unfolding. This entire family was amazing to work with and so appreciative. They set the example of a good Southern family. I appreciate their kindness through our many shots and hours of preparations.

It was above and beyond. I wish Kristin and Cale the best.

The Burnett Family

As a candid photographer I am always looking for different angles, settings and backdrops so I don't repeat myself. For this family shoot I used my own landscape. I never know what I'm going for it just happens. I thought this session was really fun because the horses just happen to be grazing in the front pasture. Ridge the smallest of the 3 children was captured by the fence with the horses peaking through the fencing. He expressions were priceless.

This family was the best. As they arrived Sonia had a plan and was organized with outfits and props. That made my job easy. I enjoyed our shoot and meeting Curtis and Sonya's kids.

They were wonderful! Thanks for a fun evening.

The Cash Twins

Susanne and I met at Byrnes High school several years ago. I have had the pleasure of working with her as cheerleader photographer. Last year she suprised me with the news she was having boy and girl twins. I was so excited for her and Craig as we share the twin thing together, my twins are 17 years old.

Today I got to meet the twins and hubby Craig. Hampton met me with a smile while Harper was just checking out the place. We had a wonderful photo session until the babies got tired of smiling. They are absolutley beautiful. I look forward to capturing them again in the fall when they are sitting up. Hopefully we can go out and play in the leaves on their next visit. It was great seeing all of you. Please call me to babysit sometime. REALLY!

Just several years ago I met Alicia in a local orthodontist office. Now she has a beautiful, sweet baby boy. I can't believe he's already 4 months old.
He was wonderful to photograph, especially when his dad Jason would make those cute little noises that mesmerised him. I look forward to watching Jonah grow and capturing his sweet personality in the months to come. They are a precious family and I appreciate them letting me capture a little moment in time.

Finally after having to reschedule because of bad weather or other reasons I had the pleasure of photographing 19 month old Zoe today. She was a joy! At first she wasn't sure what we were up to, but then she got in her comfort zone and never slowed down. I just let her go without any posing at all. Just following her around with the camera was a challenge because of her quick little feet with her squeaky shoes never stopped. Her parents were a BIG help heading in assisting her in the right direction. I appreciate them traveling from Union for the shoot.

We had a fun day and Zoe was perfect.

Today is Leila's 3rd birthday. From blowing bubbles in the park to posing in the studio, Leila was a delight to photograph. Every pose captured was her sweet personality. I kept asking her mom Jennifer is she was this sweet all the time, and she is. She never shied away from the camera and was willing to go along with us the whole shoot. I love the way we captured her being 3 and just having fun. I would say, where's that smile and she would always reply back "Right hea it is". That was too precious. Thank you for a fun and pleasant afternoon. I hope Leila has a "Wonderful Birthday".

Jenna, Justin and Jackson

Just last August I had to opportunity to photograph Jackson just 4 months old. Now celebrating his 1st Birthday I got to catch his expressions again. This time his Dad, Justin got to share in some fun shots. Jackson was a joy to photograph with his curious, mobile and sweet disposition.

His blue eyes and sweet smile stold my heart. After a few shots in the studio we went outside for a change of atmosphere. Justin and Becky (Grandmother) blew bubbles and did funny things , but Jackson was more interested in the cars going by. His "Not so Love for Grass" was so cute. I hope I get a chance to continue to photograph this sweet family in years to come. I love watching the little ones grow and their personalities change. From the sidelines at a Byrnes football game to the youth room at Church, I have had the pleasure of knowing Mason Brown. He is a wonderful student, athlete and all around guy. Gracie is my "beautiful, sweet great niece. She lives out of town, so when she's visiting I love to
grab a few shots before her next visit. Sue Sue and Nena came to the studio Thursday morning.
I met Gracie at the door with a singing dog. That seem to break the ice before camera and flash time. She was the perfect model. Ok, we did bribe her a little with chocolate chip cookies and Sue Sue promised her make up. She was precious. I just thought I would share some of my favorites.
Can't wait until the spring, Gracie will be turning 3.

Marie Hines / Singer, Song Writer, Musician

Last night I had the amazing opportunity to photograph an old friend from way back, Marie Hines. She was in town for the holidays and was performing at Interlude Coffee Shop Jan 10.
Marie is the most amazing up and coming artist I've seen in a while. As we anticipated her performance I got to mingle with her parents and old friends. It was a great reunion to see everyone again. As Marie headed to her keyboard I got my cameras ready to photograph who I didn't know was an unbelievable artist. She plays the keyboard, writes all her own lyrics, and has a voice of that of an Angel. I was blown away!!!!

Ok, this is not a china doll, she's real. Her name is Ava and she loves cookies. She is absolutely adorable. We started our photo session with fun toys and a singing dog. It seemed to capture Ava's attention for a little while. Once she lost interest in the toys I served her Christmas cookies on a silver platter. That was the SECRET. She sat at the table and tasted everyone of them, even the fake ones. She did wonderful!!!
After the session she got a chance to run around in the dance room across the hall. I captured a few close ups and her dancing around smiling in front of the mirrors. She was such an joy and hopefully we didn't wear her out. Ava and her mom were going shopping right after the shoot. Don't worry I saved myself 2 cookies before my next session. That was lunch. Yum! Yum!
I wish Little Miss Ava and her family a wonderful Holiday Season.

A Present For Grandma and Grandpa

I met Robin last year when I photographed her for the Byres Football Program as the JV Byrnes Cheerleading coach. A year later I'm photographing her little cheerleader and nephew. One of my favorite shots was Jordan looking at the book with Savannah. While trying to pull a smile out of Jordan we did get a few from Savannah. We decided the studio wasn't where this little fellow wanted to be so we went outside to the nearby playground which then put a smile on Logans face. He was in a much happier place climbing on the bars and sliding.
After chatting with Logan parents I realized that my father in-law had taught his mom. It's a small world. It was great meeting these two families and hopefully we captured some fun shots for Grandma and Grandpa.

The Phelps Family " 5 Sweet Blesings"

I was invited to take photographs of these sweet families for Christmas. With a beautiful country setting as the backdrop we managed to get everyone smiling for a Big group photo, (well almost everyone!:)
All of the children were dressed in their finest. After capturing all of the family shots the children changed into their Christmas jammies. We went from opening presents under the Christmas tree to playing in the leaves, which was a hit. What fun to pile up a bunch of leaves and play. Even the grandparents were caught sitting in the leaf pile. The kids were a joy to photograph even if they weren't thrilled I was there taking their pictures. Thanks to Reid for being the big brother and cousin and helping with the little ones.
For Carla and Bill, I know Christmas will be fun at their house. Merry Christmas to a beautiful Family! It was fun getting to know the clan.

The Durham Family

The Durham family met me at my studio in the Big town of Reidville. After meeting them for the first time I new we had a lot in common. They live on a small farm and raise beef and show cattle. With that I new the Reidville community would be a nice setting for a countryside backdrop. We rode to several locations with old barns and fencing. I believe we captured what this family was all about. Loving the outdoors and being together.
They are a very sweet and close family. I enjoyed meeting and photographing them. The boys Conner and Cameron were great sports. I just wanted to share some of my favorite shots.

Justin Henson Signs for North Greenville

I met Justin and his family back in October when I did his Sr. Portraits. Justin not only is a
fireman and a drag racer, but an awesome athlete. Pitching for Landrum High School they brought home the 2007 State Championship trophy. His mom called me for signing day to come photograph this special event. I must say it was my first, and I was very excited to do so.
I wanted Justin and his family to be able to relax and enjoy the moment and let me worry about the pictures.
Justin will be taking his baseball skills to North Greenville College in 2009. I wish him the best and maybe I'll get over to photograph a game soon.

Sunday fall day with little miss M.

This little model in only 31/2. and was a joy to photograph. As we started the shoot we were having so much fun and I realized my camera didn't warn me there was no flash card. Whoops!
Thankfully I realized it early and we carried on.... After playing games and M. singing her favorite songs we captured lots of fun candid shots. I love seeing kids be kids and bringing out their own personality in their photographs. As her mom and dad looked on she became more comfortable and began smiling and being herself. After about an hour and a leaf fight our shoot ended with a song and a hug. As I left, I went to church and realized I was covered in leaves from head to toe, but that was ok! Thanks for a fun day!

Oh My! What a fun, spontaneous and quick shoot. I met Hannah cheering at one of the local schools. After taking her Cheer pictures her mom contacted me to take a picture for the Grandparents\ for Christmas That sounded great, but then wanted it taken with the love of their lives Molly and oddie. Molly was very cooperative as Oddie was a ton of fun. He wanted to be adventurous and explore. I told Hannah to stay posed as mom and dad handled the dogs. Out of many shots we finally captured everyone looking at the camera. Misson accomplished. Being a dog lover I was totally in my element. Thanks for sharing your pooches.

Sunday I spent about 3 hours with Brooke. A rising Senior full of fun as her youthful spirit shined through each photograph. With her country wear, we had the perfect setting around the rustic town of Reidville . We spent most of our shoot in the area , then moving on to downtown Duncan and ending up in the studio where we photographed Brooke in her Pageant dress from the Miss Byrnes Class Pageant which she is now serving as Miss Jr Class beauty. Her sweet dog arrived at the studio as we were finishing the shoot so I couldn't let the night end without a photograph of Brooke and the love of her life"Daytona". I had a great time with Brooke and enjoyed out chats in between photographs. She was a natural beauty and easy to capture that natural look. Thanks for a fun Sunday afternoon.

Justin and Hemi

Where do I begin to describe this Senior session. I met and photographed the most amazing guy today. Justin is a pitcher for Landrum high school, a fireman, works on a farm and drag races a 69 dodge dart. How he does it all and goes to school fascinated me. I learned about engines, racing, and got to visit www.HodgeRestoration.com. They restore old Chrysler cars. Next we visited the fire department where Justin is a fireman. I don't think I had ever been that close to a fire truck. I was hoping they would get a call so I could tag along and get some action shots of Justin in his gear putting his skills to work. I got to meet his Greman Shepard named Hemi. She was excited to get her picture made and pose well for the camera. I had a great time and felt like I was on a field trip rather than a photo shoot. It was very educational. I hope to go to one of Justin's races sometime and grab some action shots. Thanks for a great day!

The Parker Triplets

Once again I had a chance to photograph more of Dr. Nease and Higginbotham's patients for an office Poster. These three were fun and full of ideas at Happy Hollow park in Converse Heights. I am including a picture of the cat which was very relaxed and laid back, he didn't mind us at all. I enjoyed getting to know this crew. I have twins and can't imagine having 3 when they were babies. Hannah and Luke's Wedding

Another Knot has been tied, joining Luke and Hannah together as husband and wife. The ceremony was held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. It was a simple, but elegant setting. The church was filled with friends and family. It was a beautiful service and reception. The two will make their home in Columbia. I am glad I was asked to photograph their wedding. I have known Hannah's family for quite a while. They are true friends and I'm glad to have been able to capture this special day with the people that mean the most to them. Hannah's Bridal Portraits

We finally get to reveal Hannah's Bridal portraits that had to be kept SSSHHH until after the wedding. At the end of our session which was held at Hannah's Grandparent's home we left
with a Grand Idea to finish off the shoot with Luke's BIG TRUCK. Luke had a BIG, TALL,, GIANT truck. He had went home for the weekend and the truck was left sitting in Hannah's yard. With that beautiful white dress Hannah
climbed in the truck for some surprise pictures for Luke. I'm sure these will be some of his favorites. We only managed to get just a couple of spots on the dress which did come out before the wedding. I had a great time.

Smiling "Lowry"

This happy photo shoot made my day. What better way to start a day full of smiles! Little Lowry did just that. I hardly captured a photograph when he wasn't smiling. His first picture was in his dads boots. ( He's already trying to fill his shoes) Katie, Lowry's mom, Suzie his grandmother and myself were laughing so hard we were crying and Lowry was loving every minute of it.
He was beyond a pleasue to photograph. I sure hope he comes back to visit. He certainly brightened my day.
Suzie was a wonderful assistant, sweeping, shaking the lamb, and giving us ideas......

Recently I received a call from Chandelle"s mom about doing her Sr. pictures. Trying to get them done before a yearbook deadline, Chandelle and I took off on our photographing excursion. This girl was amazing...... She was an absolute natural in front of the camera.
She plans to go into radiology after her Sr. year, ( I think she should take up modeling as a second job. :)
She marches with the Byrnes Band and with that doesn't have much time for anything else. She and I had a lot in common with our love for animals. During our session a cat came from nowhere and we stopped everything to give it a hug and make sure he was not a stray. I enjoyed spending time with Chandelle. To top off the day we went to Krispy Kreme for a cold drink and their amazing crushed ice. We were given 2 boxes of "ugly doughuts" for free. So Chandelle not only got her Senior portraits done she got a free box of doughnuts as a bonus.
I truly don't know how she will pick a Senior picture our of all we took. She is so photogenic and was a pleasure to work with.
Chandelle, I'll be looking for you on the field. Have a GREAT Senior year!

Shari and David's Wedding

The setting of David and Shari's wedding was at the foothills of Landrum SC. The Red Horse Inn, tucked away down a long gravel drive surrounded by trees, rolling hills and white fencing. I have decided this is my favorite place to photograph weddings. This family was so kind and made me feel like part of the family from the first time we met at Ihops to the wedding day.
It was a very quaint ceremony with only family and close friends. Between the beauty surrounding us and a few happy tears David and Shari exchanged their vows with sweet words
and emotion. At the reception the kids were running barefoot in the lush green grass enjoying the first day of fall. The reception was a sit down dinner catered by Stone Soup in Landrum.
I appreciate David and Shari inviting me to photograph their special day.
I wish them much happiness and love in their future together.

Georgia was a patient of Dr. Nease and Higginbotham Orthodontics (www.drnease.com)
She has recently gotten her braces off. Georgia has a beautiful smile and personality. We had fun on our shoot at River Falls and Reidville dodging spiders in the barn, walking through briars, and making a scene as cars rode by. Georgia was a great model. Her picture will be hanging on the wall of Dr. Nease and Higginbotham's new office on hwy. 290.

Clark B. and his pet Lizard, Lady Spike

Today I had my first encounter with a large pet lizard. Her name is Lady Spike. Clark, a Senior at Dorman is the proud owner of Lady Spike. We took a few shots of Clark and L. Spike down by the creek, then Spike had to go home. We continued our photo session around the local area. While getting to know Clark I found out he is on the Dorman golf team and plays the mellophone in the Dorman Marching band. He hopes to go to Clemson and try out for the Tigers Marching Band.
I had fun getting to know Clark and his mom.
Clark, good luck with the band competitions this year and I hope to see you during golf season.

Hannah Gilbert's Bridal Portait Session - (Sneak Preview).

Today I had an amazing time photographing Hannah Gilbert's Bridal Portraits. I have known Hannah and her family for quite a while. We began at the studio and for some reason my radio trigger lights wouldn't fire. So with the assistance of her mom Paula holding a reflector, a large studio window and the wonderful evening sun we captured some beautiful photographs just using natural light which are my favorites anyway. We left there and went to Hannah's grandparents 100 year old historical home tucked away off the road and down a winding drive. It was a photographers dream. We captured shots with huge columns, washed out barns and a drive lined with beautiful trees. I could of spent all day there. We topped our session with a big surprise for her finance Luke. Of course, I can't show pictures yet until after the wedding. We don't want anyone peeping at the bride or seeing Luke's surprise yet.
It was a great day and Hannah you're an absolute beautiful bride. I'm so excited for you and Luke. Thanks for a fun day and for putting up with my crazy ideas. I'm glad nothing jumped out from under the barn and attacked you! haha
I'll see you at the wedding in just a few weeks.

Anyway, I have some sessions coming soon. (At least when it quits raining.) More Seniors, kids and a Dr.s Office. I love my job because photographing is never the same.
I will also begin my sports teams, Florence Chapel, Gable Middle, and Byrnes High School Football.

Kids Just Wanna Have fun!

I got to meet a brother sister duo today. They were so cute. As she was all about posing, he was all about adventure. I have found that photographing children is a little different than photographing teenagers. I try to capture kids being kids, in there own element. This little guy had an amazing curiosity about every location we came upon, while his sister was patient and waited for instructions. I enjoyed our photo shoot so much. They were sweet children with wonderful personalities. I appreciate their patience in spite of the ants, briar's and sticks.
Happy Birthday M. and Good luck at school. S keep smiling and being adventurous. Tell your Grandparents Hi for me and I'll be by soon for some horse feed.

End of Summer Lake Party

As you know I have closed the studio this week to spend time with my girls who will be moving out this weekend and my twins starting a new year in high school. We spent the day at the lake with 20 teenagers and me. Needless to say I was in the boat for about 8 hours pulling kids on tubes and wake boards. It was a beautiful day! We were having a GREAT time until the game warden pulled us over checking for life jackets. We were short 3 jackets so he fined me $110.00 and let us barrow 3 so we could continue with our fun. He probably wouldn't of stopped us, but having about 12 people in the boat was a dead give away. He was very nice inspite of the ticket.
The kids were wonderful and we had no injuries, thank Goodness! Bella was a puppy that showed up at our house and spent the day with up. It was a great way to bring in the new school year.

Colton Driver - Musician

Tonight I had the fun experience shooting images for Colton Driver for his new CD Cover.
Colton has written many great songs and is putting the finishing touches on his new CD.
As a talented guitarist and singer he is definitely on his way!
He contacted me a few weeks ago about helping him put together a CD cover. (This will be my first.)
With a train station setting in mind we headed downtown Spartanburg for a variety of shots. Not knowing really what we were after I began photographing Colton against the old train station, a nearby bench and the railroad tracks. At that point we thought we had gotten some great shots until we heard the train whistle blowing around th corner. Kristen, Colton's girlfriend was yelling down the track for him to move. I found this a great time to get some shots of Colton with this roaring train moving up the track behind him. It was awesome. I didn't have time to set my camera settings I just started shooting. I don't think any of us had ever been the close to a moving train. We couldn't of planed it any better for the effect we were looking for.
The CD cover will be a surprise but, I will bet it might have a train on it somewhere. :)
Colton's CD should be out in just a few short weeks. He's not revealing much about it yet, but I assure you it will be worth the wait. Until then visit Colton's website www.coltondrivermusic.com and his My space www.myspace.com/coltondriver .

Leaving Home...

This week I am not going to be shooting any portrait sessions. As you know it's time for school to start and a lot is going on in my life getting kids ready. With the excitement of two of my girls graduating one from Presbyterian College and the other from Byrnes High School they both will be leaving home next weekend. As a mom I'm very saddened, but excited they have made it this far to a new stage in their lives. I will miss the orders given like "can you wash this outfit or what's for supper" I'll miss our jamy parties, long talks, Miss jeans ices, diet talks, fighting over the computer, movie night, and all the little things that daughters and moms share. Though we will talk often, I want be there to protect them and share there everyday experiences.
I know they are excited as they are going in two different directions. I will look forward to our visits and phone calls. I know Ashton and Ridge will enjoy being the only "child's" being they are twins, so they will have to share the only child spot. Please say a little pray for our girls and family as we go through this transition. Girls don't forget to call Mom often!!!!!
I wish them much success on their new journey and I'm so proud of who they have become.

How do I begin to describe Rachael's Senior Session. Heading towards Greenville I wasn't sure what we were in for. As Rachael and her friend Logan navigated me to the backside of Falls Park we began our session on the rocks in the river. Rachael being the dare devil she is, climbed on rocks, swung from trees and even hopped on a strangers motorcycle. ( Just kidding we asked him if we could barrow it for a pose ) From spray painting brick walls to jumping in ponds we captured
everything about Rachael and her Senior Year. From elegant to biker shots and some in between. Logan was a huge help with using the reflector, carrying towels and being creative. Thanks for coming along Logan.
The antique green car was sitting on the side of the road for sale. Rachael was happy to use it as a prop, because she had told her mom she would love to have it.

Alicia and Rico's Wedding

One of my favorite places to photograph is Falls Park in downtown Greenville where Alicia and Rico's wedding was held. The setting was simple, but elegant with beautiful greenery as their backdrop. Though the wedding was private there were many onlookers from the park and main street.
I had not met Alicia formally, but talked with her on the phone several times planing the wedding. Her mom "Barbara " met me at the door and was so sweet. The whole family made me feel right at home. Even uncle "Smiley" Fleming. He was the life of the party always having something to smile about. So I named him smiley! Alicia's aunts were a big help in everything flowing smoothly.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding and reception. They made my job easy as they included me in everything. I appreciated their kindness.
I wish you two much happiness together. Thanks for letting me be a part of your beautiful day!

Another Byrnes Senior makes the Blog. It so much fun for me to photograph Seniors because I never know from the time they walk in my studio where I will be shooting. I love the excitement as to where we may end up. From the studio to downtown we stopped along the way and got some really cool shots. Ryne was a trooper climbing walls, walking through kudzu, spider webs and getting bit by bugs. Through all that, we finished his senior photo session in about 2 hours.
I know he was relieved to be done. I can't believe I didn't get a traffic ticket with all the driving errors I made. It's hard to drive and look for great spots to take pictures all at the same time.
Ryne runs Cross Country and had a race the next morning. I hope you got a good supper after all
your hard work. Good luck this season. When you're out running stop buy the studio and say hi.
I promise not to break out the camera.

I remember in just a short time taking Justin and Jeanna's engagement pictures at Hatcher's Garden. They are such a sweet couple. Now they have added Jackson to their sweet family.
Jackson being only 3 months old was fascinated by some of the props which kept his attention
while I captured some of his most sweetest moments. We tried to pull a smile from him, but he wasn't willing to share it with us. My favorite shots are Jackson and mom in the chair interacting. These weren't posed shots they were just Jeanna showing her unconditional love for Jackson. She is a wonderful mother. I'm so excited I got to see them since they live out of town. I can't wait until I get to photograph him again sitting up with the outside as a back drop.
He is so adorable and I'm so excited for Becky and Robert. I know they are enjoying him so much. I even hear Robert sings to him. Awww how sweet.
Becky, thanks for your help today with all the sweet songs and smiles trying to keep Jackson happy during the shoot. I loved what we captured.

Meet the Fam.

This week has been a rain out. Even though we haven't had much rain I have canceled all my
Senior shoots due to not so great weather. I thought I would share my pet family with you until I finish my other shoots this week.
As I was out watering the horses Tuesday night I carried my camera out. Of course this isn't
all of our critters, but I did manage to get a few silly shots of these clowns. Out Kitty loves the horses and they kinda of like her. I never new just trying to grab some shots of them would be so funny. The horses were walking on top of me trying to see what my camera was, especailly Pistol. He is like a BIG dog. He is so nosey. Lily is the most loving, where Harley just wants me to throw the ball. He's a Jack Russell. I hope to feature the other critters soon.

SCJGA Championship

Wow, who would ever think the game of golf would be fun to watch. I never thought I would be packing a cooler, renting a cart and following my son as he walked 18 holes. I love to ride around like I know what I'm doing and talk the talk, he calls me down when I don't know a rule or a term. I always come back with " let me take you to a horse show and see how much you know" since horses have been my life since I was in high school.
I watched these guys play their hearts out in a 2 day tournament this week in scorching hot weather. As the game started with sporadic shots, no one was very consist ant until the back 9, then the game became intense. Bad shots were replaced by good shots, the adrenalin was pumping between these guys. It was the best competition I had seen since I have been a follower of the game.
At the end of the eighteenth hold the scores were calculated. Our guys were placing in the top numbers until the bomb was dropped. Two of the guys used ranged finders ( this is a tool that
measures distance from you to the hole). They had no idea they were not usable in this tournament. I thought I would tear up after the let down, but I saw 4 great guys conduct themselves like gentlemen. I was so proud of them. Way to go guys for your hard playing and your great sportsmanship during the game.
I loved it! I will continue to be the cooler cart. See ya at the next tournament.

Brian, Paige and Ryder

Today I got to visit with some old friends and photograph the newest addition to the family. I remember when Paige, Ryder's mom was just a little girl running around the house with her siblings. How time flies. Now having a baby of her own, Ryder was in a great mood to be photographed while mom and dad embraced him in some of the shots. Pam, his Nana was on standby to settle him when he got tired of the the bright lights and commotion. I appreciate Brian, Ryder's dad sharing his cool tattoo's. This is a wonderful family, and I hope I get the opportunity to photograph Ryder in the future as he begins sitting and walking.
It was great to see Pam and Paige and to meet Brian and little Ryder. He is beautiful!

Jake and Josi

Today I met Jake and Josi. Jake is a rising Senior and Josi is a rising 10Th grader. Kim, their mom called me a few weeks ago to schedule Jake's Sr. Session. I always look forward to my photo shoots and getting to know my customers. Well, these two were no exception. Not only are they both great kids, but have travel to many cool places. After returning from Germany two years ago, they have settled back into Duncan. They lived in Germany for two years, while their father
worked with BMW. During our shoot I got the pleasure of hearing all about their stay in Germany. It was so interesting. Since my travels consist of going to Lake Greenwood or Ocean Lakes I was spell bound learning about their trip. Both said that traveling will be a big part of their adult life.
We had a great shoot, starting in the studio, to the country side to graffiti down town. It was a lot of fun capturing such a variety of shots. Thanks for a fun evening and educating me about Germany.

Babysitting my Nephew.

I had the opportunity to babysit my great nephew today. So needless to say he is adorable, sweet, smart and athletic........ need I say more? We had a ball, a matter of fact ball is his favorite word.
I happened to have my cameras in the car so I couldn't resist getting a few shots. I talked him into putting down the golf ball and golf club and going for a stick for the photos. He didn't mind at all. One we were done he was back hitting the club. Look for him in a few years on the pro tour if he doesn't take up baseball like his dad. I believe he's going to be the next Tiger Woods!

Ok, I never new being a High School Senior could be so much fun. I guess it entitles you to spray paint on brick walls, play in water fountains and jump over fire hydrants. After we did our pretty shots we got kind of wild! I guess I got trigger happy with my camera, because I captured it all taking place. How we got by with some of
these crazy things without a ticket from the down town police was just pure luck!
Jordann was wonderful to work with. Her fun, try anything attitude just opened the door for a fun photo session. We had an audience everywhere we went. People were amazed at what they saw. The fountain was a nice cool down after a 2 hour photo shoot. It was a fun "trash the black dress" session! Jordann, have a GREAT Senior year, I'll see you at the games.

Down on the Farm!

I had the pleasure of photographing these precious babies once again. I have been taking their pictures since this little fellow was just weeks old and now he has a little sister. She has joined our photo sessions as well. Now that she is sitting up I thought it would be fun getting outside away from the studio and do some natural shots of kids being kids. These two did GREAT!
With a few fishing props, a Jon boat and a pond we pulled off some cute photographs. The fish just weren't biting today! We finished the shoot with two spoons and a BIG bowl of vanilla ice cream.
Yum, Yum. In spite of the mess these two enjoyed their treat, and we got some cute pics.
I love being a part of watching these two grow up. Thanks Jennifer for letting me be your official babies photographer.

Family Time!

I only traveled a few miles from my home to photograph Matt Dillon and his pony Sugar! :)
As a storm was brewing I managed to get some sweet "family" photographs. It was a little challenging dodging the lightning bolts and rain during this session, but everyone came through the shoot safe and sound. The wind and rain gave some special effects for the photographs, but for the most part it held out until we were through.
This sweet family would soon, being the next day say goodbye to their oldest son bound for the Army, first stop being Boot Camp. I'm so glad they invited me to capture those special memories before Clay left. Hopefully some of these photographs will be stuffed in the many letters headed his way. Clay, Good Luck on your new journey! Thanks for letting me be a part of that day.

Corey Bradshaw, Byrnes Rebels Offensive Lineman is a Sr. this year. He choose to have his Senior photo session done early because football takes up his most of his time. Wearing his State 2007 Championship ring we got several shots of Corey in his football attire. Later we went for the rustic look with old barns and brick walls around Reidville. Lauren his girlfriend came along for the ride. We captured them together in a few shots. Lauren is a Nixon Chick ( a group of Byrnes students that cheer at the games.)
These guys were great to work with and a lot of fun.
Lauren helped hold my cameras as we drove from location to location. Thanks a bunch Lauren.
I loved what we captured. I'm so glad Lauren didn't fall the hay bale, thanks to Corey as her spotter! Good Luck this Year in Football. GO Rebels!!!!!

I have known Kristin over the past few years playing volleyball for Byrnes. I photographed her brother Austin a while back. I was excited to get to know her better during our session. She was amazing to work with. I didn't have to guide her much at all. She was a natural in knowing how to position herself for the perfect shot. We were in downtown Spartanburg making ourselves at home in the back alleys and side streets. Occasionally people would ask or look at us with curiosity. It was quite funny. We just continued on our mission to get some great photographs.
Mission accomplished.
We headed to Barnett Park and were going to get in the fountain, but it was closed. :(
After a great session we were headed to Zazby's for a Big Tall COLD drink. It was wonderful.

Melissa and Chris

Melissa and Chris were married at Mary's Cottage at Falls Park Greenville. The setting was Mary's beautiful Cottage Restaurant and the most beautiful gardens ever. The weather was perfect as the evening unfolded. Chris and Melissa had written their own vows. There was LOVE in the air. After the wedding a reception was held on the patio and porches of Marys Cottage. A wonderful sit down meal was served and wedding cake finished the evening. As friends and family lined the red brick walkway sparklers began to flare. Chris and Melissa ran through the waves and goodbyes as they made their way downtown on the sidewalk to a hotel nearby. The two were headed on a 2 week honeymoon to Germany. Chris being a fireman, I loved the way the sparklers and the brick collided together making a burning reflection of light.

Nick Inman on the Slalom

Nick is a student at Carolina. Growing up on Lake Greenwood he has developed some amazing slalom skills since a youngster. I had the privileged to photograph him on July 4Th weekend. He is beyond just a good skier. It was challenging shooting into the sun and away from the sun with the roughness of the wake. The cove was where we got the best shots. I love the different images we got on the same ski trip. It's all in where the sun hits in the later part of the day. Great job Nick.

The Brice Family

The Brice family had a new addition 4 weeks ago. Little Miss Gabby. She is so tiny and adorable. We shot individual and family shots. I love capturing families interacting as if I weren't there. That's what makes the photographs come to life. I love the father and son shot. We certainly got a variety of family in this session. The children were great. I know their patience runs thin when being photographed. I look forward to watching these children grow. Hopefully I can be there photographer through the years to come. Thanks for a smooth session. Lauren's Sr. Session

Lauren contacted me about scheduling her Sr. pictures. It was so much fun. I can't believe she's going to be a Sr. We use to be neighbors and had a play group when my kids were small. Lauren is a natural in front of the camera. She was very pleasant and always was asking if I were OK after I did a balancing act off a ledge. I fell to the grown and in spite of the fall I decided while I was down I would shoot from a lower angle. Her boyfriend Corey came along for the ride so we got a few shots of them playing in the fountain. We had so much fun our session lasted 3 hours. I could of went all night. It saw so many great backdrops on our journey around downtown. I look forward to hanging out next week for Corey's Sr. portrait session. Jean, Laurens mom was a wonderful assistant, holding the reflectors in just the right place. Great Job!

Whitney and Jeremiah were married June 21st at Messiah Lutheran Church and believe it or not we found it. We went early to make sure.

I have never seen a couple laugh so much. The song they danced to was about " My Best Friend" Their relationship seemed to be more than husband and wife, they are "Best Friends". I just loved watching them and snapping those sweet moments.

As I entered the reception room the air was filled with garlic and spices. The dinner spread was nothing shy of an Italian Buffet. Anything and everything along with many different kinds of cakes.

The DJ got the crowd going with oldie goldies. It was a great day! I enjoyed getting to know both families and Aunt Joyce. Joyce kept things moving. ( Great Job).

Whitney's Bridal Portrait Session

Today is the day, Whitney will walk down the Isle and be joined with her man!
A few weeks ago we did Whitney's bridal portraits. I think she and her mom were thrown for a loop when I said jump in the car we're going to get some outside shots. We went to a nice garden, then proceeded to a local business that was closed, so we barrowed their iron gates and waterfall. It was so cute because as cars went by on Reidville Road Whitney got many honks and each time we would all wave hoping it wasn't the owners of the business. We were kind of sneaking around getting these great shots. The business keeps adding outdoor settings so its hard to resist not using it for portrait backdrops. Ok, that business happens to be http://www.dayspringliving.com/ They specialize in outdoor living areas. We had many laughs and poor Whitney endured the heat until I felt like we had enough shots. Jan and Whitney were GREAT sports. I can wait to photograph the wedding today.

PS: I'm so thankful for my new GPS and my sweet husband that took me on a trial run to the Church in Mauldin. I would of never found it on my own.

The Layton Family

Recently I had the privilege to photograph the Layton Family. These pictures were a gift that had to be kept TOP secret for Ashley's mom, Tug. I go to Church with the Laytons, but didn't know them well until our session. It's amazing how just spending a little quality time with people how a relationship can build. Due to rain we had to shoot inside the studio. With 6 kids total you would think it would be chaos. These children were very well behaved and did just what we told them. It was a perfect session in spite of the bad weather. Next time we'll make it to the farm. I enjoyed getting to know you all better. Glad Tug loved her portraits.

After a very busy Friday and Saturday doing photo sessions and a wedding oh and not to mention giving horse rides Saturday morning at Davidson Street Baptist Church Block Party. We were ready for some cold water and relaxation. We took off to Lake Greenwood Sunday Morning after Church. It was the perfect lake day. I have never been on a tube in my life. Growing up water skiing I just bypassed all the other lake adventures. A knee injury 2 years ago has cut out my skiing days for now, so I thought I would take on the tube. My husband drove the boat and kept the speed at a minimal of ?mph. I was so scared. My daughter left, got a BIG laugh when I made my way over the wake, YIKES!!!! Everyone in the boat was chit chatting while I was blasting through the water bouncing up and down and trying to hang on. They weren't the least bit concerned of my life!

I had a blast and will probably take up the sport. I may even go a little faster next trip out. Maybe my kids will now let me join their team of the "Lake Greenwood Professional Tubers Association".

The Paxton Wedding

Speigel Farms was the setting for Kyle and Leigh Paxton's elegant wedding. Due to another commitment I was asked if I could photograph this wedding for my friend Ashley Tumlin http://www.carolinashutterbug.com/ . Being a horse lover there was no question about it, I was in my element being among green grass, rolling hills and beautiful fencing, not to mention the barn that looked like something out of a fairy tale. What a privilege it was just to be a part of this joining of two sweet people in a beautiful setting. This family was a pleasure to work with.

The photography was a variety of sweet moments of the two of them kissing to being crazy and kicking up their heels. It was a fun day I will never forget. I loved the little red Corvette.

Can I barrow it sometime?????? Thanks Ashley and the Thaxtons for putting your trust in my work on their special day. Mary did a great job as a Second Camera and handling the golf cart. It all came together beautifully and we captured some treasured memories.

like this amazing family. We spent a some time at Cleveland Park and just let them enjoy being together. They were not many posed shots in the session as I just stood back and let them have fun.
Annabrook was the best model ever. Her expressions stold the show. When catching candid shots like these the heat was not a Big issue even though it was steaming. Thanks Dana and Jeff for selecting me as your photographer. I had a great time getting to know you all better. Annabrook is on her way to being "America's next Top Model".

Randi's Bridal Session

What a fun day. Randi got married this weekend so I finally got to share these shots of her Bridal session with you. She was a beautiful bride with lots of personality and expression. I drug her around from the studio to location shootings. We managed not to trash the dress along the way, unbelievable. Sherry, her mom was a life saver from getting her laced into the dress to being my assistant during the session. At the end we just got crazy, that's when the goofy shots took place. We stalled until the evening light was just right. We got just what we were after. Randi decided on the middle image for her canvas which was displayed at the reception along with some smaller prints. We had a great time and I thought her wedding was absolutley beautiful.

It's hard to believe another one of our girls is graduating from High School. As most parents my kids pictures seem to be last on the list. Not intentionally of course. " As the shoemakers kids never have shoes". It is graduation time and we need a photo for the announcements, so we through a couple of outfits in the car and headed for a 30 minute photo shoot. We stopped at random places and grabbed a few shots. We will have to continue this photo session next week when we can both work it into our busy schedules. We had a great time and always have to top it off with a chicken salad plate from the "Family Dog Restaurant" in Reidville. One of our favorite places to grab a quick lunch. So check back next week for more of "Kellie's Sr. Portraits" hopefully! I enjoyed our outing today.

Leatherheads Red Carpet Party

A fund raiser was held in downtown Greer at the Davenport for the Triune Mercy Center and The Greer Soup Kitchen. It was an evening to remember. The flair was a 1920's setting with costumes, hors d'oeuvres, champagne, silent and live auction and music by Jabberwocky. Party goers were interviewed on the Red Carpet while paparazzi (which was me and other photographers) was snapping away. It was a really good time. I got to meet so many interesting people from Greer.
I couldn't wait to see the movie, so the next day I went with some friends. I thought it was very good. I kept catching myself trying to identify some of the local areas in the movie. I even saw some of the Greer cast who had been at the party the night before.
Greer has definitely hit the "Big Time". There are some great shops and restaurants in downtown Greer. Talloni shoe store is one of my favorites if you want shoes out of the ordinary. Check it out! http://www.talloni.com/ A shoe Salon.

Got Braces!

If you're in braces or even thinking about getting braces then you may recognize some of these faces. I had the privilege of photographing the office crew and orthodontists for the updated office portraits. It was a fun morning and we couldn't have planned for nicer weather. We had a beautiful garden setting with water fountains and iron gates. This group is so much fun to work with. They're like one BIG family. Well, they practically are family, My sister-in-law works there. I "reckon" that's how I got the job!!!!! Thanks S.

I also have the pleasure of photographing some of their patients that have just come out of braces. These patients photographs are made into large posters and displayed around the office. It's fun to see local faces on the wall. Their office is located on Powell Mill Road. They will be moving into a new office this summer located in Duncan on Hwy. 290. I hear they're going to have an ORANGE "Univ. of Tennessee" bathroom, that will be a conversation piece.

I've enjoyed watching the progress of the construction.

Rhythms Dance Studio

I have had the privilege to photograph Rhythms Dance studio for the 3rd year. I really enjoy this group, especially because we share the same building in Reidville. So when it's picture day I shoot the groups pictures then go downstairs and watch them perform their dances.

Jennifer Eleazer is owner of Rhythms Dance Studio located in Reidville. Her girls did a GREAT job performing during rehearsal and recital time. One of my favorites was the racing costume. Her mom found this cool background at Dollar General (one of my favorite stores). I think she is a candidate to announce "Gentlemen Start your engines".
Angela, Jennifer's assistant is talented as well. She made both of her daughters dance costumes. Good Job Angela.

Turning 10

How would I photograph a 10 year old boy. He certainly wouldn't want to pose in a studio setting, so we decided to jump on the golf cart and away we went. River Falls was the back drop of our adventurous 2 hours. Over the hill and through the woods I was chauffeured by a 10 year old!!! He was a darn good driver.

We did just what kids that age want to do. Jump from trees and play in the creek. He was so much fun. My equipment and myself made it all back in one piece thanks to a good driver.

Kristine is a Senior this year. She is a natural in front of the camera. I also had the opportunity to photograph her last year. This session was in downtown Spartanburg at random places. The water fountains being Kristine's favorites. When I wasn't taking her photograph she was playing in the water. We had a GREAT time. Her mom joined in to help as both of our assistants. Thanks for a GREAT shoot. Next time I'll bring snacks!!!
